I am so looking forward to the event tomorrow. I haven't seen too many of my SCA friends in far too long; I didn't make it to many events I had hoped to this summer and fall. It should be so much fun. I hope everyone is staying for the feast, and more chances to schmooze.

I am working a bit for the event, helping out with a shift at gate, and am in charge of setting up and tearing down the hall for feast. I know that I will be making an appearance in court, as I will be receiving my Grandmaster Bowman recognition. But mostly I'm looking forward to hanging out with friends.

I did not get too much done that I really wanted to for Crown. I didn't get any of the pearl embroidery done on my garb, but I will wear it anyway and it will just not look quite as spiffy. I'm bringing something different to wear during the day, since I want to look my best for court. I am still going to try to bring some mulled wine to share with friends, and plan on bringing a big thermos of hot coffee to stave off the cold. I wanted to make some cookies, but that might now happen. I will have pictures of the wedding and honeymoon to share, though.

I have to figure out what I want to bring to work on throughout the day, to keep my hands busy. I will bring the hat that goes with my court outfit to try to finish the pearling before court, and debating about the leatherworking stuff to continue work on my belt. I need to pack up the car tonight, since I will be heading out very early tomorrow to help with last minute setup.

It has been a busy week with the kids, one of the high points being seeing B get 4 merit badges from summer camp at the Court of Honor Wednesday night. Should have had a break last night, but M and I went grocery shopping instead. Tonight the town library is having a costume party for the "Tweens and Teens" that E wants to go to. B doesn't have a costume, but I could probably scrounge something up for him if he decided he wanted to go, too. So that's still up in the air. M is going to take E trick-or-treating tomorrow night while I am at the event, and B will stay at the house to hand out candy. Not that I anticipate he will have many visitors; last year we had maybe a half dozen kids, and while there are more kids in the development now, most of them are either too old or too young for trick-or-treating. But we bought two bags of candy, figuring we will have the leftovers around for the boys.

Speaking of the library, I'm very excited that they were able to get the other two books from Robert Sawyer's Neanderthal series that I have not been able to find in print. The first book of the series was fantastic, and I can't wait to read the other two. Definitely been doing a lot more borrowing than buying of books, for both space and budgetary considerations.

Under images I wish I could get rid of, last night on the way home, we witnessed a cat run into the road and get hit by the car in front of us. I'm so glad the boys weren't with us; M and I were both quite distraught. I went home and hugged both my kitties for a good, long time.

You gotta love a hospital, upon having a claim denied because they already submitted it once and got paid, that then sends a bill to the patient stating "These charges were not covered by your insurance".

So now that I've printed off copies of the two claims, the paid one and the denied duplicate, I will have to wait until Monday to call the hospital and ream them out, because I forgot to bring my copy of the bill to reference.

(Ok, so it's not strictly a problem due to the health care system, but most likely a glitch in the hospital billing department, but still)
