danagryphon: (Sun & Moon)
Friday was E's baseball jamboree. The rain managed to hold off (mostly; a few spritzes that stopped quickly) until E got his trophy. He was so excited. We also got the Littleton Tigers fleece sweatshirt I had ordered for him a while ago. The cool thing I found out is that if the kids are still playing baseball in 5th grade (next year for E), they get a personalized jacket. So E is psyched to do baseball at least one more year to get his jacket.

Saturday morning, I took my car into Midas to get the brakes done. Wallet says ouchy again. But really, I knew what it was going to cost. Like I said, the good thing is that the money I'm getting from cashing in my insurance is going to just about cover all the stuff I had done to the car. I still have to take it today to get it inspected. But I will feed much better about going down to PA on Thursday with new tires and working brakes.

Saturday evening, we decided to go out for dinner, and ended up at Chili's. Stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few essentials, and went to Blockbuster and rented a couple of things, including Pink Panther 2 and Inkheart. Watched PP2 that evening, or I should say, everyone else did. I had a sugar crash and went to have a little lie down while M and kids watched.

Sunday, we had archery practice. M's friend L came down to get some practice shooting distances longer than 20 yards, in preparation for shooting in the Bay State Games in late July. But we actually had a turnout! Four newbies came, and of course, I hadn't brought the loaner equipment, but I let the kids off the hook, which freed up their two bows (including a lefty for one of the newbies), and M had both his bows there for the other two. Plus the other Quintavia regular was there, and Rozi came out and shot with us for a while, too. So it was quite a full line. And again, the weather held out for the whole time. In fact, we went over and just kept shooting, since we were having such a good day. There won't be any practice next week because of the holiday weekend, and I've got to figure out the weekend after that, because it will be GNEW, and if I get back from GNEW early enough, I should really go help out with the pack bike hike that is also that afternoon. So we will see if practice happens that week or not.

L stayed for dinner when we got home, and after he left, we all sat watched Inkheart together. It was a good movie, although I missed the last bit of it because I was cleaning up stuff from dinner.

I woke up this morning around 6:30 to a house without power. So I pulled out my battery operated travel clock, set the alarm, and went back to sleep, since I didn't have to be up until about 7:30 to get E off to camp this morning. By the time my alarm went off, the power had come back on, so I didn't have to try to get him ready in the dimness.

The kids and I are going down to PA for the holiday weekend (M can't get the time off work). We are leaving Thursday and returning Monday, so that will give us 3 full days with my family. I'm taking my Cricut down to do some crafting with my sister, which I'm really looking forward to. I also debating about taking the Wii down for the boys to play (we got a package that has an extra sensor bar and a carrying bag, so it might be a good thing to keep the boys occupied. Speaking of the Wii, I also set up the balance board for the Fit this weekend. It's loads of fun.
