There are several people in my life right now who deserve this song. Some of them are being incredibly Brave, dealing with things that are so hard, I can't help be immensely proud to know them.

This song has been like an earworm in my brain for the last couple of months. The feels it evokes are just so MUCH. I've used it in a couple of mixes. It's a perfect Walking Dead song, bringing to mind Sophia and Merle, and how they affected Daryl. But lately, it's been wiggling its way into a PotA story idea that I'm going to do for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest. This verse in particular "And when I found you, you were slipping away/So I had to do whats best for you" just yanks at my heartstrings.
The Distance )

I haven't done one of these for a while, but I love this new song by Stanfour.

I think I've found the title and inspiration for my Dean/Castiel Big Bang...

To celebrate the premiere of S4 of Glee last night, here's the lyrics from what is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs for S3. And you can listen to it here. I think the storyline featuring Coach Beiste was an amazing one, and I hope she shows up more this season. I love that character.

I put this in a mix last week, not knowing how well it would quickly capture my own mood.

I recently found this song, and am now obsessed with it. I'm working on a House fic that uses the lyrics. The haunting melody is so unlike anything else the artist has done. But the words, oh the words...

I have to admit that I never really thought much about Christina Aguilera's music, but after hearing a few of her songs on Glee now, I may have to go explore it a bit.

Oh, and Blaine's scene while he was singing this... yum... (I feel so freaking naughty for even finding the kid hot, y'know? But hey, I'm old middle aged, not dead.)

I've loved this song for a long time, and thought the rendition of it on Glee was beautifully done. There are many songs from that episode, Yes/No, that are now on my favorites list.

I used this as the inspiration for my House fic. I love the sad plaintive lyrics. Originally by Coldplay, it was done early in S3 of Glee, sung by Will to express his desire to fix Emma's OCD.

This song is a filk by Julia Ecklar, from her album called Genesis. Many of the songs on it about Star Trek 2, but it's got so many good songs on it that it has remained my favorite filk album ever. I got it on tape at Pennsic in the mid-80's, and I recently paid to have it digitized and transferred to CD, because it's completely out of print. This song in particular is very dear to my heart, because it reminds me of someone I miss every single day.

Haven't done one of these in a while, and this came across my playlist on iTunes. One of my favorite songs from Avenue Q. I think this would also be a perfect song for them to do on Glee! (Are you listening Ryan Murphy????)

Quickly moving up the charts as one of my favorite Meat Loaf songs. And I love everything that man does.
